On October 15th, Professor Eleri Rosier, Professor of Marketing and Strategy and Director of PG Recruitment and Admissions at Cardiff Business School, visited our Institute. Professor Shilei Yang, Dean of the Institute, and Ms. Xiaoyu Zhao from Office of Global Engagement at the Institute, met with the guest and held an exchange seminar.
Shilei Yang warmly welcomed Eleri Rosier on her first visit to Chengdu. He introduced the development history of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), the characteristics of SWUFE-UD Institute of Data Science at SWUFE, international cooperation progress, profiles of the first class of graduates, and future development plans. He expressed the Institute's high regard for the established master's progression program with Cardiff Business School and looked forward to deepening academic exchange and talent cultivation cooperation between the two institutions through this project, to jointly promote the development of both educational causes.
Eleri Rosier sincerely thanked the Institute for its key role and steadfast support in promoting cooperation between the two universities. She introduced overviews of Cardiff University and Cardiff Business School, emphasizing the comprehensive support system provided to students, including academic guidance, career development services, and continuous English language tutoring and support throughout the students' study years. She also explained the current UK policies on internships and employment for international students. At the seminar, both sides actively expressed their clear intention to carry out short-term exchange programs and semester-based study abroad plans, and looked forward to further cooperation discussions to promote student exchanges between the two universities and enhance students' international education and employment capabilities.
This visit marks a new peak in the exchange between the two universities and is also a new starting point for future cooperation. Both sides look forward to further strengthening cooperative exchanges, jointly exploring new avenues in global education, and thereby promoting the comprehensive development of students.
After the seminar, Eleri Rosier visited the SWUFE Monetary and Financial Museum.
